The diamond like coating eliminates wear and reduces friction for a cooler more efficient motor. You must use a 1/2" dia 320 grit flex hone such as "BRUSH RESEARCH BC1232" (approx $20) to clean any burrs from the rocker ID before installation (see flex hone and used DLC coated rocker spindle).
